The Ivorian government - through the Service of Mines, Oil and Energy, electric utility CI-Energies and Public Oil Organization Petroci - has marked an agreement with worldwide oil and gas major Eni for the stock of petroleum gas obtained from blocks CI-101 and CI-802 in the Baleine field.
Endorsed by Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, Priest of Mines, Petrol and Energy and Noumory Sidibe, Overseeing Head of CI-Energies, the agreement empowers Eni to supply the state utility with flammable gas for power creation.
Serve Sangafowa, expressed that the arrangement expands Ivory Coast's gaseous petrol supply to help power age and security while supporting monetary development and the country's energy progress and decarbonisation plan.
"This mark denotes a conclusive step for the energy eventual fate of Côte d'Ivoire and affirms the country's obligation to fostering an economical and harmless to the ecosystem flammable gas industry," said the Priest.
As Africa's most memorable net zero emanations advancement, the Baleine field project is supposed to assist the West African country with decreasing the portion of petroleum derivatives in its energy blend from 70% to 55% and reach 45% of sustainable power sources by 2030.
